The Holy Church of Ag. Dimitriou was built in 1815 and is a small picturesque Church, basilica style, which has its own color. As can be seen from the founding inscription, the Church is honored in the name of three Saints: Saint Demetrius the Great Martyr, Saint Anthony the Great and Saint Neomartyr Constantine the Great. In the Church there is the first icon painted for Saint Constantine in 1815 and the icon of Saint Spyridon, dating from 1809.
The Temple is located at a distance of about 350 meters from the port of Hydra, on the plateau of Xeri Elia, in one of the quietest and most picturesque neighborhoods of the city center.
To get from the port to the Church, the road is paved, without steps and seems like an easy route.
Starting from the quay of the flying dolphins, after passing the first row of beach cafes, turn left at the first corner of the port, to the exhibition space "My Crown" and at the fork take the rightmost branch of the road, taking in front of the tavern "The traditional ". Continuing straight, you reach the plateau of Xeri Elia, where the Church of Agios Dimitrios is located.
